ETI award GRADE 1 to The Academy

Beauty Therapy staff at The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School were delighted to see their hard work and dedication to excellence in training recognised by the ETI (Education Training Inspectorate) in May this year. Following a thorough inspection by a team from ETI of the standard of teaching and learning, the training facilities and the support available for beauty therapy students across the campuses, ETI awarded the training school Grade 1.

Achieving Grade 1 in this ETI inspection is defined by the inspection body as 'outstanding characterised by excellence' and is evidence of the continued exceptional training that is delivered to our students at campuses across Northern Ireland.This recognition follows previous Grade 1s awarded by ETI to the Hairdressing Department of The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School in 2006 and again in 2010.

Drawing from the final report, ETI commended the training school for its "Outstanding leadership and management of the provision, underpinned by the strong commitment to the achievement of excellence in beauty therapy training". The report continued to highlight the "Outstanding accommodation, physical resources and equipment provided to support the delivery of the programmes" and the "Outstanding enhancement opportunities provided to the trainees and apprentices".

The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School has sustained these high standards in training and education over a period of 11 years, which is unprecedented within the industry. Praise and congratulations must go to all of the staff within the training school for their dedication and commitment to the young people who train in both hairdressing and beauty therapy and to their excellence in training. A sincere thank you must also go to the many salons who work so closely with us every day and who play such a huge role in delivering this excellent training to our students. Our strong and effective partnership over the years has been an essential part of The Academy Hair & Beauty Training School reaching this outstanding provision!
